State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic, Ivan Korčok, received today (29 January 2018) Major General Courtney P. Carr, Commander of the Indiana National Guard, who is attending the Central Europe Chiefs of Defence conference. This has been his second visit to Slovakia in the past 6 months.
”Our second meeting during the past six months attests to the excellent relations between the Slovak Republic and the State of Indiana. I consider it important to highlight this fact especially this year when we commemorate the 25th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between Slovakia and the United States of America. The growing number of joint training activities and implementation of the Black Hawk helicopters in the Slovak Army’s equipment show an example of practical and tangible collaboration between the Armed Forces of the Slovak Republic and the Indiana National Guard,” stated the State Secretary of the Slovak Foreign and European Affairs Ministry.
Korčok appreciated the role of the Indiana National Guard in the modernization of the Armed Forces of the Slovak Republic. They also spoke about the intention to extend mutual cooperation with the State of Indiana as well with trade and investment activities. In this regard, the State Secretary also recalled his recent talks with Jim Schellinger, Secretary of Commerce of Indiana, in Bratislava and spoke as well in favor of the ongoing dynamism of the contacts with leaders of the State of Indiana this year as well.
