Parízek meets Australian’s Foreign Affairs Minister on the sidelines of the V4 + Australia meeting
State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic, Lukáš Parízek, held talks with Julie Bishop, Foreign Affairs Minister of Australia, on 22 February 2018.
During the talks they confirmed their interest in the further development of mutual relations between their countries that are based on joint values, with the emphasis on economic cooperation (especially in the automotive industry, IT sector, startups and innovations).
Slovakia also supports the launch of negotiations about the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) within which it is interested in tax restrictions on imports for luxurious cars since they are the core product of Slovakia’s export industry.
State Secretary Parízek appreciated the sincere bilateral interest in promoting common interpersonal contacts as well as in developing cultural activities.
In speaking with Minister Bishop, Parízek suggested possible reciprocal support of each country’s candidacies in the UN Security Council in forthcoming years.
