Podpora SR spoločnému vyhláseniu skupiny partnerov z Bezpečnostnej iniciatívy proti šíreniu zbraní hromadného ničenia
Slovakia supports the joint statement from the group of partners of the Proliferation Security Initiative
Proliferation of weapons of mass destruction (WMD) represents a threat to international peace and security. Slovakia remains strongly committed to counter-proliferation of WMD and supports the full implementation of United Nations Security Council resolutions on the Democratic People´s Republic of Korea.
Hence, Slovakia welcomes and supports the Joint Statement from Proliferation Security Initiative (PSI) Partners in Support of United Nations Security Council Resolutions 2375 and 2397 Enforcement, which was released on January 12, 2018.
Slovakia reiterates its commitment to support the United Nations Security Council Resolutions 2375 and 2397 and to uphold the commitments enshrined in the Statement of Interdiction Principles of the PSI, of which Slovakia is an endorsing state from 2004.
The PSI is a multinational response of 105 countries, including Slovakia, to the growing challenge posed by the proliferation of WMD. They are committed to undertake effective measures, either alone or in concert with other states, for interdicting the transfer or transport of WMD, their delivery systems, and related materials at sea, in the air, or on land; to and from states and non-state actors of proliferation concern.
